Meet your Instructor

Darren Spooner is a system engineer in the Office of Information Technology at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

In this position, Darren functions as a lead in the virtualized environment that includes multilocation VMware vSphere infrastructure.

He has been in the information technology field for the last 8 years, providing a multitude of solutions for employers including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Windows Active Directory, network design and support, disaster recovery/business continuity planning, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and much more.

Darren currently holds: VCAP5-DCD, VCP5-DCV, VCP-DCV, MCSA: Windows Server 2012, MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2010, CCDA, CCNA DATA CENTER, Security+, Network+ CE, and A+ CE. He teaches Using VMware Sphere, A+ Certification Exam Prep, and Network+ Certification Exam Prep for UAH PD Solutions.

He previously worked as an EMT for many years with HEMSI and is a certified instructor with the American Heart Association.
